Using radiofrequency ablation (RFA), energy is applied to the genicular nerves surrounding the knee, which in turn stuns them and prevents them from transmitting pain. It is a minimally invasive and inexpensive option for alleviating pain, restoring function and possibly avoiding knee surgery.
